Jonathan Rhys Meyers’ Legal Trouble
We’ve all heard the stereotype that the Irish like to drink… but Jonathan Rhys Meyers took the joke a little too far while visiting Dublin, Ireland yesterday during a press tour for his new movie “August Rush.”
It seems the 30-year-old actor enjoyed a few too many libations before attempting to board a plane at the Dublin airport, on his way to England.
Airport authorities refused to allow the Tudors star on the plane following two confrontations with police due to his erratic, abusive behavior. Jonathan was arrested by Ireland’s national police force and held for a short time on charges of “public drunkenness and breach of the peace.”
Reportedly, he was released “on his own bail” and is due back in Irish court on December 5th. Interestingly enough, Jonathan already did a stint in rehab earlier this year… maybe he needs to head back.
