Johnny Knoxville Splits With Wife
In another Hollywood divorce story, Johnny Knoxville has filed for divorce from his wife of 12 years. The Jackass star filed the paperwork yesterday, according to the Los Angeles Superior Court.
The 36-year-old Dukes of Hazzard star cited irreconcilable differences as the reason that he split from his wife, Melanie Lynn Clapp. Knoxville’s real name is listed as Philip John Clapp on the official paperwork. Not exactly a movie star name, eh?
Rumors of Knoxville’s marriage failure started back in 2005, when he and Jessica Simpson were rumored to be getting freaky. “Usually you just laugh and go on. (But) if it’s something like they’ve done to Jessica and I, it’s not as funny because I have a wife and kid,” he told a reporter in August 2005. “Luckily, my wife is understanding. It’s show business.”
Not about to come off a deadbeat dad, Knoxville is requesting joint legal and physical custody or their 11-year-old daughter Madison. He has also reportedly offered to pay a hefty spousal support sum.
