Johnny Depp Gives Back Big Time

You can bet the peeps over at the Great Ormond Street Children’s hospital were pumped when they saw a $2 million check roll across their desk with Johnny Depp’s signature on it.

It turns out that the Pirates of the Caribbean actor was so grateful to the facility and its staff for healing his daughter, he decided to give back. He also got Disney to pledge $20 million toward the facility’s various renovation projects.

Lily-Rose was hospitalized last year for kidney failure, a condition that required her to be hospitalized for a total of nine days.  And Depp took it so seriously he dropped everything to be by her side.

Johnny even invited the doctors and nurses involved to the London premiere of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.  Back in November, he reportedly dressed up as Captain Jack Sparrow and read stories to the hospital’s patients.  Talk about setting an example!
