Friday, September 25, 2009 John Travolta’s Extortion Case Update
As the trial of John Travolta’s alleged extorters continues, new evidence has surfaced that may prove to be bad news for the defendants. According to a report, video footage of conversations between the “Face/Off” actor’s attorney and paramedic Tarino Lightbourn and his lawyer Pleasant Bridgewater contain evidence detrimental to the defendant’s case. When asked what he would do with the $25 million he was extorting, Lightbourn replied, “I was poor all my life. You know, me and my family, were struggling all our life. I wanted to do things for charity all of my life.” Travolta’s lawyer replied, “You’re a Bahamian Robin Hood, man!” Then, Lightbourn agreed to a reduced price of $15 million, but wouldn’t take installments. He explained, “I can’t do installments. I want to get this behind me. I want to put this to rest. I don’t want to see you anymore ... I’m thinking, how do I know if I go to the States one day the Feds don’t pick me up? How do I know if I go to the States one day, it’s not a hit on me?” All of the video footage has served to prove that the defendant was involved in an extortion scheme in order to keep a Do Not Transport form out of the public eye.
