Thursday, October 22, 2009 John Travolta’s Extortion Case Declared a Mistrial
It has been a very rough year for John Travolta and his family, with the death of his son Jett and the subsequent extortion scheme plotted against him. And now there’s more bad news for the “Face/Off” actor, as the court case involving Pleasant Bridgewater and Tarino Lightbourne has been declared a mistrial. Bridgewater and Lightbourne have been accused of attempting to extort $25 million from Travolta in exchange for keeping some of the details of Jett’s death from the public eye. Late Wednesday a Bahamian judge ordered a retrial after a government minister reported publicly that Bridgewater had been exonerated during jury deliberations.
