John C. McGinley and Kessler Tie The Knot

John C. McGinley married his girlfriend Nichole Kessler in a private Malibu ceremony over the weekend. McGinley has had small roles in numerous films including Office Space, Any Given Sunday, and Are We Done Yet, but got his big break playing Dr. Cox on the hit show Scrubs.

McGinley’s publicist reported to E! news that the ceremony was small, and included family and friends, inluding the actor’s pal John Cusack.

E! also reported that McGinley’s nine-year-old son, Max, led Kessler up the aisle. McGinley met Kessler when Max, who has Down Syndrome, started talking to her on the beach a few years back. 

“Max went over to this hot blonde behind me and I was just aghast. I was like, ‘Max, you get the dogs. I’ll talk to the hot blondes.’ And so we switched,” People quoted McGinley, as saying.

As for how their relationship works so well, Kessler feels, it’s because the actor is very understanding and supportive.

“John makes me laugh. He brings strength into my life and he challenges me to be more of a person than I ever thought I could be,” Kessler said.

This is the second marriage for McGinley, who was married for two years to Lauren Lambert before divorcing in 1998. Meanwhile, this is the first marriage for Kessler.
