Jessica Simpson’s Country Gig: Mixed Reactions
Ever since she announced her transition from pop to country music, there have been varied opinions floating around. And over the weekend, Jessica Simpson performed at the Country Thunder USA Festival to mixed reviews.
The “With You” songstress took the Randall, Wisconsin stage Saturday night, opening for Sara Evans, sporting a white button-up overtop a white tank top and a pair of denim cutoff shorts with cowboy boots. But the new image didn’t fool everybody.
Amidst both booing and clapping, Simpson tried to relate to the crowd, saying, “I don’t know what your perception is of Jessica Simpson or what tabloid you buy, but I just want you to know that I’m just a girl from Texas. I’m just like you. I’m doing what I love and dating a boy.”
There were both naysayers and supporters with comments like, I’ll have to drink a lot of beer to sit through her concert,” to, “I actually like her country songs better. She has a great voice, plus, she’s adorable.”
Jess’ new country album drops September 9th.

Grass is greener on the other side of the fence.
She lives to try and be something new.
But country music is not new.Live and try another day.
She is an angel in cowboy boots.I hope she finds true happiness,as well as somebody to love somebody to feel,somebody to kiss somebody to heal…
