Jessica Simpson and John Mayer: Over for Good

It seems that love never lasts in Hollywood anymore. Just ask Jessica Simpson. The recently divorced songstress has finally called it quits for good with her most recent flame, John Mayer.

While it comes as no surprise, due to their turbulent tendencies, it is sad to see such a cool couple throw in the towel. A source told People magazine, “It has been rocky and it had been rocky, and it reached the end of the road. It is definitely over - the relationship has ended.”

"They broke up Sunday night, but who knows what the future will hold. This is the twelfth time they’ve broken up. Their relationship is volatile. Last week, they felt better than ever. This week, things are rocky. Who knows what the future will bring.”

Mayer, 29, and Simpson, 26, spent the last year dating, vacationing and partying together. But in the end, it wasn’t enough. “Every relationship has its differences, but with Jessica and John those differences were starting to become more and more apparent.”
