Thursday, September 10, 2009 Jermaine Jackson Talks About Michael’s Tribute
Jermaine Jackson has announced that he hopes he and Mary J. Blige perform at the concert that is planned to happen later this month in memory of Michael Jackson, but the line-ups are all still in progress. “I spoke to them (Blige’s personnel) and they very, very much want to do this and they are trying to work out and fix up a commitment they have with Gucci,” Jackson told at a news conference in Berlin. Blige is also to be busy at a fashion event in Italy the same day the concert is taking place. “The star is Michael Jackson—it’s not about name dropping and who else will be there,” the show’s producer Georg Kindel said. The list of performers is planned to be announced in a news conference in Vienna next week after Jackson confirms all acts. “It seems that there is a lot of confusion regarding the confirmed talent for the tribute—we are rechecking and confirming each artist personally,” Kindel said. Performers have been reported such as Akon, Natalie Cole and Sister Sledge, all to sing Jackson’s greatest hits such as Billie Jean, Thriller and Bad. Also joining the acts will be the band and dancers who were set to go on the tour of “This Is It.” Enjoy the pictures of Jermaine Jackson holding his press conference (September 10).
