Jennifer Hudson and Family Reach Out For Help
In the wake of tragedy, Jennifer Hudson’s sister Julia has pleaded for her son’s safe return just one day after the Oscar winner’s mother and brother were found shot to death in their Chicago home, and nephew Julian King was kidnapped.
“I don’t care who you are, just let the baby go,” Julia Hudson said in a press conference held at the Pleasant Gift Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday. “I just want my son. He don’t deserve this.”
An Amber Alert was put out for the American Idol’s nephew on Friday, also naming Julia Hudson’s estranged husband, William Balfour, 27, as a suspect for the murders. Balfour is in the police’s custody for questioning, but no charges have been issued.
An autopsy confirmed that Darnell Donerson and Jason Hudson’s deaths were caused by gunshot wounds. “It hurts,” Julia Hudson expressed about her mother and brother’s deaths. “We’re in a state of shock. I don’t know what else to do but pray.”
With kidnapped Julian’s father, Greg King, by her side, Julia Hudson begged the public to keep an eye out for him, stating that he responds to nicknames like “Juice Box” and “Dr. King.” “He’s out there. Just let him go,” she pleaded. Addressing her son, she added: “I love you. Mama’s looking for you.”
Julia told that sister Jennifer, 27, the Oscar-winning star of “Dreamgirls,” had boarded a plane quickly after hearing about the devastating news in order to be by her side and be with family. She explained that upon hearing the news, Jennifer, “was screaming” and “flew in right away.”
Julian had been visiting his grandmother’s house on Friday and the two were, Julia said, “extremely close.”
“I worked, so he was always with her, day in and day out. She did everything for him. She got him ready for school. She got him ready for bed,” Julia added.
The Chicago FBI office confirmed on Sunday the agency has been involved in the search for the boy. “I can confirm that we have been asked to provide assistance to the Chicago police department to assist in the search for 7-year-old Julian King,” said Ross Rice, special agent and spokesman for the Chicago office of FBI.
When Ross was asked if any big leads had taken place, he told press, “The key word there is assisting. It is still a Chicago police investigation, both the murder and the kidnapping, and any announcements would be best to come from them.”
Meanwhile, Jennifer updated her MySpace page on Sunday with recent photos of her nephew and a statement from her family: “Thank you all for your prayers and your calls. Please keep praying for our family and that we get Julian King back home safely. If anyone has any information about his whereabouts please contact the authorities immediately. Here is a picture of Julian and what he was last seen wearing. Once again thank you all for being there for us through this tough time.”

Hearing the story on Friday night left me in total shock as I just left my room after a long session listening to Jennifer Hudsons album and dancing and singing along, only to go down stairs and hear the fatal news about her family, how can such a beautiful tight unit b destroyed in a matter of minutes, this is an evil attack, an attack that has not just saddended the remainder of the Hudson family but that has saddened the nation, until the husband is proven guilty we can not judge, but if guilty what an evil thing to do U was once a baby in your mother’s arms an innocent bubbly beautiful bubba like Julian, how could you do this.. what did he do to deserve this at the age of 7? R.I.P to all three family members, the only positive feeling of satisfaction we can get from this evil attack is that, all 3 of them left together & they will stay together watchin over Jennifer & Julia still as a tight family unit, R.I.P… Jennifer my heart goes out to you, stay strong all my love Paula

Her sister is an idiot. Why the hell you would mess around with a loser like that guy, only to have your entire family murdered is pathetic. You can take the girl outta the ghetto, but you can’t take the ghetto out of the girl. B/c of her sister’s stupid judgement, her whole family is now dead.

I do not know Jennifer nor the rest of her family like that but I do now what it feels like to lose family members and it hurts and knowing that its wasen’t even their fault hurts even more nothing in this world could replace a close family member

i am really sorry to hear cause when i heard it i was in a state of shock cause i was so suprised but i know that dey shud take heart and god is ready to be their comforter and dey should not lose hope cause one day the offenders would be caught
