Japan Loves Johnny Depp

All of us here in the United States have had our chance to check out Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street by now.  But the Japanese are just getting started.

Johnny Depp made a trip to the Japanese capital city of Tokyo today (Tuesday, although they’re time zones ahead of us) for the Sweeney Todd Premiere.

It was an event to behold, as Roppongi Hills Arena played host to all of the pomp and circumstance of a big Hollywood shindig.  The “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor was joined by his buddy (and Sweeney’s director) Tim Burton.

And you gotta hand it to Johnny for having marathon man-like stamina… he had arrived just hours before the premiere at the Tokyo International Airport in Narita Chiba, and didn’t even take a nap to chase off the jet lag.  Now that’s impressive!
