Jake Gyllenhaal: London Lad

He’s been across the pond working on his latest film “Prince of Persia: Sands of Time,” and last night Jake Gyllenhaal treated himself to a gourmet dinner in London.

The “Day After Tomorrow” stud was spotted on his way out the back door at swanky Cipriani restaurant sporting a tan leather jacket, black trousers, black sneakers, and a black knit cap.

And according to a source close to Jake’s sweetie, Reese Witherspoon, things have been a bit strained in the romance department ever since he left to work on the film.

“This is his first epic, and his mind is on his work. They talk on the phone and e-mail, but he’s not ‘there.’ Reese is wondering if this is how it’s going to be between them every time he’s out of the country filming.”

In an attempt to rekindle their romance, the “Sweet Home Alabama” sweetie paid Jake a visit last month. “While there, they even went house hunting for a place because Jake will be using London as his home base until December. Reese doesn’t like the formality of a hotel for her and her two kids.”

The source added that perhaps being together for the holiday season will be just what the doctor ordered “to reconnect and remember why they were in a relationship in the first place.”
