It’s Rehab For Richie Sambora

With the onslaught of addiction on celebrities, it’s hard to believe there’s room for normal people in rehab clinics. The latest celeb to check in… Richie Sambora.

“Richie Sambora has entered an undisclosed treatment facility in Los Angeles,” said a rep for the band (Bon Jovi). “He asks that you respect his and his family’s privacy at this time.” The rep didn’t disclose the reason for Sambora’s treatment, though.

And it appears that Richie will still fulfill his commitment to play the Today show’s concert June 19th. “Anytime Bon Jovi plays a Today summer concert show, it’s an event, and we’ve been assured that Richie is going to keep his commitment and perform with Bon Jovi on June 19,” said Jim Bell, the show’s executive producer. Bon Jovi’s new album Lost Highway releases that day as well.

I’m sure Sambora just needs to detox and decompress from the last year of his life. He broke up with Denise Richards a few months ago, his dad died of lung cancer soon thereafter, and his divorce from Heather Locklear was finalized only days before that.

“Richie has had a terrible year,” said a close friend of Sambora. “I think this was a culmination of all these things and finally he realized he needed to take care of himself. He’d put off everything for so long taking care of everyone else it was just time to stop and deal with his issues.”
