Tuesday, June 19, 2007 Is The Price Right For Rosie?
Last week marked the final days of Bob Barker’s career as host of popular daytime gameshow The Price is Right. And there’s widespread speculation over who should replace him. It looks like Rosie O’Donnell may try her hand at the hosting duties.
Rosie O’Donnell is looking to her next career move after having left the View last month. And TPIR is definitely on the list of possibilities. “If they asked me, I sure would,” she wrote in her blog.
Bob Barker looks to be endorsing the former stand up comedian. “I believe they’re going to have a meeting with Rosie. There’s no doubt in my mind she could do the show. Now, whether they want a lady host, I don’t know,” he told press. There are several other names in the hat for possible hosting duties. “CBS Early Show” weatherman David Price, “Entertainment Tonight” co-host Mark Steines, Mario Lopez, George Hamilton, John O’Hurley, Todd Newton, Mark Kriski of L.A.’s “KTLA Morning News” and, most recently, Ian Ziering are all vying for the opportunity to fill Barker’s shoes. There you have it. The show has to begin taping at the end of July for the new season, so we’ll keep you updated on the host position status. Will it be Rosie? Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
