Hugh Hefner: Divorce Details
Hugh Hefner may have had his fair share of girlfriends, but that didn’t stop him from getting divorced - until now.
After more than a decade of separation, Hugh Hefner is now filing for divorce from wife and former Playmate, Kimberly.
Hefner is asking for the judge to order him to pay Kimberly Conrad Hefner $20,000 a month in spousal support, which is half of the $40,000 a month he has been paying her since the separation of 1998. The payment plan would end in two years or after a trial on the divorce.
Hefner and Kimberly married back in 1989, which was the same year she was announced Playmate of the Year. They then had two songs together, Marston and Cooper Hefner, who are now both in college.
Hef and his ex then separated in 1998 – with Hugh going on to live at the Playboy mansion, while Kimberly moved into a home next door with the couple’s sons. Documents show that she filed for divorce at that time, but it was eventually withdrawn.
Kimberly sued Hefner last month after reporting that he owes her $4 million due to their prenuptial agreement and from the sale of the home she was living in. Also mentioned in her lawsuit is that Hefner agreed to pay $250,000 per yet for every year they were married after their fourth anniversary.
Hefner claims he paid $750,000 after they separated that he assumed met the prenuptial agreement.
Kimberly’s attorney in the civil lawsuit refused to comment on the situation and Hefner says he has paid almost $12 million to his wife sine the separation.
Hefner, 83, states that he has paid his son’s school expenses and will continue to do so.
The Playboy founder is living with his current girlfriends at the mansion currently and has also starred in “The Girls Next Door,” since 2005 with his previous three girlfriends.
