Hilary Duff Helps Kids in Need

Out for a good cause, Hilary Duff made an appearance at the Nina Footwear and Blessings In a Backpack event in New York City on Friday (October 24).

Held at P.S. 15, Roberto Clemente Elementary School, the former “Lizzie McGuire” starlet playfully posed with the schoolchildren, along with fellow guests-of-honor Miss Universe 2008 Dayana Mendoza and Miss USA 2008 Crystle Stewart.

As for the program which helps bring food and supplies to the less fortunate, Duff says, “I feel lucky enough to have a voice or a name that people might pay attention to.”

“I think that people might not be aware that a couple neighborhoods away, kids aren’t having food on the weekends, and we just want people to be informed and to know what’s going on in their communities and to help if they can,” she adds.
