Hilary Duff Helps Feed Hungry Children

She’s been busily promoting her soon-to-be-released movie “War, Inc.”, but that doesn’t mean that a Hilary Duff isn’t willing to make time for a charity in need.

Following a Wednesday night appearance on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno (during which Adam Sandler announced that he and his wife and expecting their second child), Duff jetted off to Boca Raton with the motive of helping hungry children.

The 20-year-old Disney starlet “visited Boca Raton Elementary School students who were celebrating the official launch of the Boca Blessings in a Backpack program, which helps meet the nutritional needs of children and families over weekends,” reports the Palm Beach Post.

Smiling ear-to-ear, the Lizzie McGuire actress said to the teachers and students on hand: “I’m so happy to be part of it. I’m honored to have met you.”

And it appears that the trip was well worth it, as “the program received more than $50,000 in donations, which will be used to take the program to J.C. Mitchell Elementary and Hammock Pointe Elementary.”
