Heather Mills: “I’m No Gold Digger”

Heather Mills keeps moving ahead on Dancing with the Stars, despite using a rubber leg fitted for her performances on the show. Meanwhile, she seems to be kicking her gold digger rep with her brave appearances on the popular dance competition.

The former model, who lost her left leg (below the knee) in a motorcycle accident, purchased the specially made prosthetic limb to allow for more flexibility on the dance contest.

After another solid performance with her new leg, judge Bruno Tonioli told her: “One, two, three legs, I don’t care how many - you did a fantastic job.”

While Heather was all smiles throughout the show, the former Mrs. McCartney displayed her fragility, breaking down in tears during a recent radio interview.

The incident occurred while Mills was a guest on Ryan Seacrest’s KISS FM morning radio show, in which she was reduced to tears after hearing a few kind words.

The listener, named Pat, said: “I’m ashamed that I had a judgment against you based on everything you read in the newspapers, that you were after his money, and, come on - everyone was down on Heather Mills. But you have won me over, and I can admit it, I had formed a bad opinion about you. I am embarrassed, actually. I would love to apologize. And America should apologize. People should apologize. You were wrongfully treated.”

Heather let the tears fly, sobbingly replying: “That makes me feel emotional. That’s great.”

Heather added: “I could have gone down that path of lowering myself to everyone else’s level and proven my innocence. All I did was fall in love with somebody madly, and give up my life for seven years. And then just to be vilified for it? I’m actually quite shocked. I’ve spent 14 years doing charity work.”

Mills concluded by adding: “If I was a gold digger, I would be a very wealthy woman now. And I’m not.”
