Heath Ledger’s Family Gathers for Funeral
Friends and family have begun to gather outside the sister of Heath Ledger’s home in Perth, Australia. Heath’s father, Kim Ledger, his new wife, as well as Heath’s sister were among those showing up.
Ledger’s family is planning to hold a wake for the deceased actor at a picturesque Australian beach that was one of his favorite surf spots.
Grieving relatives of the “Brokeback Mountain” star will pay tribute to Ledger, 28, in a private ceremony Saturday at Cottesloe Beach, a surfer’s paradise south of Perth, local papers tell.
Childhood friend Paul Mullert told The Australian Times newspaper Ledger was “the quintessential Australian, who loved nothing more (than) slipping on a pair of boardies and his (flip-flops) and heading to Cottesloe Beach.”
