Halle Berry Preps for Giving Birth

As her February due date looms in the not-too-distant future, Halle Berry was spotted leaving a medical appointment yesterday in Universal City, California.

The “Monster’s Ball” actress looked happy and healthy as she walked from what appeared to be a residence, where she was said to have received birthing therapy, to her vehicle. Berry’s baby bump was out in full force.

And while the whole becoming a mommy concept may seem a bit intimidating, Halle has never been one to back down from a challenge. After all, she threw caution to the wind for her role in Monster’s Ball… and won an Oscar.

Of the great honor, she told press, “It just meant on that day my industry said ‘You did good’ if I don’t ever win another one, it wouldn’t mean I wasn’t good. You have to take it with a grain of salt . That’s why after winning, I resisted the feeling of ‘Now I only have to do great parts.’ I got here by wanting to learn and grow and have fun. In Monster’s Ball I went nude, which was really scary, but I took the chance to try something new and I want to keep that approach to my career.”

No doubt, Berry’s value of closeness with family will come into play heavily as she embarks into motherhood. “I’m extremely close to my mother even though I left home when I was 17. She now lives a few blocks away from me in LA, which is great because it means we can have coffee together in the morning. If I’m going on a trip, I can just run over and pack her bag so she can come with me.”
