Favorite Christmas Songs & Memories

There are some songs that really get you into the Christmas spirit. For me, I just absolutely love Silver Bells. I’d have to rate it as my all time favorite Christmas song. 

There are some songs that really get you into the Christmas spirit. For me, I just absolutely love Silver Bells. I’d have to rate it as my all time favorite Christmas song. I can remember walking down M Street in Georgetown (Washington, DC) one night while I was alone during December in 1989 and passing a shop on a snowy, evening and hearing Silver Bells playing. It was a perfect night for the song.. lots of people shopping, all the stores decked out in the holiday decor, icicles hanging from the rooftops, just enough snow to make it all Christmasy outside. This day is forever frozen in time for me and every time I hear Silver Bells, I immediately go back to that very day. It’s kind of sad really, I miss living in Washington, DC. I will never move back there, and well I don’t have any big plans to visit any time in the near future but it’s just that little glimpse into the past that makes me homesick.

I also love All I Want For Christmas by Mariah Carey. It makes me want to get up and dance!
