Ellen Pompeo Ties the Knot

It looks like Ellen Pompeo took a break from supporting the striking writers of her show Grey’s Anatomy… to get married.

That’s right, the “Old School” actress tied the knot with Chris Ivery last Friday, according to reports.  New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg witnessed the nuptials at City Hall in Lower Manhattan.

The couple met in LA back in 2003 while they were both grocery shopping, and began dating less than six months later.  Ivery said “One night she just looked different to me,” and the romance was born.

And four years later, Ellen proved she was a woman of her word.  Upon her engagement she told press, “There will be no ‘big’ anything.  It’s going to be very small.” City Hall with the Mayor definitely counts as “very small.”

The happy couple was spotted at Sunday’s Knicks game at Madison Square Garden (near the courthouse in which they were married) before returning to LA so Ellen could get back to shooting Grey’s Anatomy.
