Don’t Anger 50 Cent

While the rap music industry is definitely fueled by a certain degree of hype, sometimes things can get heated. Take 50 Cent, for example. He’s having a pretty raucous exchange with rival Cam’Ron.

With street cred being as important as anything else in the hip hop world, Cam’Ron is hitting 50 where it hurts. Apparently he made fun of the “Party Up” rapper’s real name, Curtis, and said publicly that he’d lost his credibility for his comments about not protecting a serial killer’s whereabouts.

And now 50 is biting back, calling Cam’Ron an idiot, and saying that he’d never alert police to a criminal. He told press, “(The) only thing missing from hip-hop is an IQ test. If you’re smart, you know that’s not the f**kin’ place to say that.”

Either way, when you’re as rich and famous as these two, there’s always the danger of saying something in the public arena that will tick somebody off. As with most hip hop feuds, this will probably turn into merely hip hop hype.
