Does The UK Hate Joss Stone?
From the looks of a recent interview, it appears that Joss Stone’s UK homeland isn’t sticking by her anymore. And, surprisingly, she’s not all that upset over it.
Stone, whose latest album, “Introducing Joss Stone” has received a tepid response from consumers and critics (it only got to #12 on the UK charts) says that the pressures of fame have become burdensome, and a lack of prolonged success would help her regain her private life.
She told press, “I was told not to do anything in the UK, because everybody hates you. I’m not allowed to speak, but I’m totally not shutting up any time soon. I never have and never will. I would like to be successful and liked in the UK, because it’s my home but on the other hand, if I don’t have success I can come home and not get followed around.”
Her success in America is enough to keep the checks coming in for quite some time, so perhaps for Joss, it would be better to quiet things down with her career across the pond. Either way, she’s already made quite an impact on soul music, especially for a skinny white girl from England!
