Tuesday, July 17, 2007 Despite Injury, David Beckham Still Has “The Touch”
David Beckham’s highly anticipated debut with the Los Angeles Galaxy against Chelsea is said to be in doubt after Becks’ ankle injury limited his ability to get much of a practice in during his first training session yesterday (July 16). What isn’t in doubt is what we like to call “The Beckham Touch.” According to ESPN, “The ankle swelled up during the flight from London to Los Angeles last Thursday and despite a weekend of massage and treatment, Beckham could not take a full part in Galaxy’s open training session at the Home Depot Center last night in front of around 2,000 fans.” Speaking after training, Galaxy head coach Frank Yallop said the situation was being monitored regularly. “Right now, he’s day to day,” Yallop said. “He’s not done too much the last two days. His ankle is quite swollen but we’re hoping it recovers quickly and he can have some part in the game on Saturday.” But David may not want to get too serious about soccer just yet, as he seems to be enjoying all of the attention he commands from the ladies (and his wife, too, of course). On Monday, the soccer megastar was spotted drawing a crowd of gals as he shopped around Los Angeles, posing for pictures and signing autographs. And later in the evening, it was wife Victoria who was eager for Becks’ touch, pulling his hand between her legs before exiting the car. Enjoy the pictures of David Beckham and his women on Monday (July 16). We’ll let you know if there’s an announcement on his playing status for Saturday’s game.
