David Beckham’s Ankle Still Hurts; Won’t Play Chivas
David Beckham has been ruled out of the lineup for the Los Angeles Galaxy’s Superliga match against Chivas de Guadalajara this Saturday.
This is sure to be another disappointing setback for the Galaxy fans that are counting on the Beckham magic to bring them good luck with his golden foot.
During Beckham’s opening game for the Galaxy, an exhibition match against Chelsea, he was unable to start the match, but did get to see 12 minutes of action as a substitute. This came after several false starts in which he got up off the bench to stretch, only to turn around and head back to his seat moments later. Each time that he got to his feet, the chants of Beckham could be heard screaming across the entire stadium.
Bothered by an ongoing ankle injury, Beckham injured himself while playing for England during a European Championship qualifier on June 6th, and the injury was aggravated again on June 17th in his final game with Real Madrid.
Galaxy fans are praying for a speedy recovery as they start the beginning of a season in which they have high hopes of stealing the prize. They just need Becks’ to get better!
Despite David’s absence, you can still tune in to watch the Galaxy v. Chivas match this Saturday at 7PM PDT.
