David Beckham Sidelined For Six Weeks

As reported yesterday by the Gossip Girls, David Beckham was injured again on Wednesday in a match against CF Pachuca Superliga.

In the latest news, initial reports from the team trainers are putting the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer stud on the sideline for at least the next six weeks.

And after undergoing an MRI, it was confirmed that the new injury was a sprained ligament in his knee. The tackle that brought Beckham down occurred in the 33rd minute, leading a large part of the crowd to simultaneously jump to their feet.

In obvious pain, Beckham signaled to the sidelines that he needed a substitute and was able to limp off under his own power. The score was tied 1-1 when Beckham left the field and it stayed a tie all the way through overtime until the Galaxy lost in penalty kicks.

Beckham returned to his team’s bench in the second half of overtime play. “I had to get back out there to cheer on the lads as much as I could,” he said after the game.

We look forward to seeing how Tom Cruise will be able to perk up his new best friends spirits, as Beckham will certainly be going stir crazy by the end of his six week enforced break.
