David Beckham Leads Galaxy Victory
For all of you soccer fans wondering why the LA Galaxy was shelling out $250 million for an injured player, your questions have been answered. David Beckham, after being named the team captain, led the Galaxy to victory yesterday after scoring his first goal.
There was an earthquake of applause as the eager anticipation that had been building for weeks was answered by a trademark free kick by Becks. The “Riot Squad” (LA’s fans) couldn’t celebrate enough as Becks’ wife Victoria and son Brooklyn let out their elated cheers.
It’s been a hard start for the British soccer stud. He began the season with an ankle injury, and hasn’t had very much playing time as a result.
And as his team celebrated their 2-0 victory over DC United, David made sure to give credit where credit was due. “We worked hard as a team and played hard as a team and we won as a team,” he told press in a post-game interview.
