David Beckham: Cleared To Make Galaxy Debut

Questions as to whether or not David Beckham would be making his debut for the Los Angeles Galaxy this evening have been answered. Becks is a go!

According to the Los Angeles Times, “The 32-year-old England national team star will not start in the 5:30 p.m. game, but will come on some time during the second half. It could for as long as 30 minutes or it could simply be a cameo appearance of 10 minutes or so.”

There was doubt as to whether David’s swollen left ankle, which was re-injured while helping Real Madrid win the Spanish championship on June 17, would be ready to sustain game-level physicality.

And while he still hasn’t even taken part in a full training session since the June 17 incident, on Saturday morning a doctor gave the green light for limited participation in today’s nationally televised friendly against two-time English Premier League champion Chelsea.
