Dark Days For Owen Wilson

He’s made us laugh out loud in films such as Wedding Crashers and You Me and Dupree.  But yesterday was quite a different situation for actor Owen Wilson.

According to preliminary reports, the Shanghai Noon actor attempted to take his own life by means of slitting his wrist and overdosing on pills.  The Santa Monica Police Department issued a statement yesterday saying that they made a joint response with fire department paramedics to a medical aid call at Owen’s house.

"A person was transported to a local hospital where they are being treated. Due to HIPAA medical privacy laws, no further information is being released.” But reports have been made that confirm that it was indeed Owen.

His brother Luke, and the rest of the Wilson family were seen entering and exiting Cedar-Sinai Hospital to visit the Starsky and Hutch star.  There is no word on any official statement from the family or Wilson’s publicist.

Update: TMZ has reportedly obtained the following statement from Owen: “I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time.” Meanwhile, there’s still no word on whether the attempted suicide reports are true or not.
