Charlize Theron’s Dior Watch Lawsuit

Charlize Theron, who spent the past few days attending Cinevegas, has just been sued by a watchmaker over her wearing of a Dior watch.

The Oscar-winning actress faces legal troubles at the hands of watchmakers at Raymond Weil for wearing the wrong timepiece at a 2006 Texas film festival.

According to ANI News, Weil had signed Theron as a spokesmodel for its Shine watches, which carry a hefty $7,000 pricetag. Despite her contract with Raymond Weil watchmakers, Charlize just couldn’t keep herself from wearing a rival Dior timepiece on the red carpet.

As a result, the watchmakers at Raymond Weil are suing Charlize for around $20 million dollars. Meanwhile, the grounds for the claim are listed in court documents to be breach a contract and promoting a competing watch.

“If you’re the model for Ralph Lauren, you can’t show up wearing Gucci at the AcademyAwards. She undercut our entire ad campaign,” Contactmusic quoted Weil attorney David Jaraslowicz as saying.

“We spent a fortune on an ad campaign centreed around her, then she goes off and makes us look silly in the industry by wearing Dior,” added the attorney.

We’ll keep you updated as the Weil-Theron battle moves forward. In the meantime, enjoy the pictures of Charlize at Cinevegas!
