Charlize Theron Needs Geography Lessons
Bringing an end to her Park City visit, Charlize Theron was spotted leaving Utah and arriving at LAX last night. And neither she nor her beau Stuart Townsend seemed too interested in having their picture taken.
While she’s usually a delightful traveler, it seems that the “Monster” actress slipped up and gave a false report to UK publication The Daily Mail.
Of a recent trip to Turkey, Charlize reported, “We went to Turkey. When we got over there, we rented a car and we drove all the way to Budapest. By the time we got to Budapest it was like the Cannes Film Festival, I’d never seen anything like it.”
The only problem is that Budapest is in HUNGARY, not TURKEY. The city she actually visited was the Turkish city of Istanbul for its International Film Festival.
Budapest’s Deputy Mayor Imre Ikvai-Szabo invited Charlize to spend a long weekend in Budapest, all expenses paid. He told press, “We are happy if someone speaks of her experiences remembered to be in Budapest, even if they are from somewhere else. But we would be even happier if next time you could talk about the city based on your own true observations.”
