Charlize Theron: Don’t Call Me A Celebrity
When you’re one of Hollywood’s top actresses, commanding millions of dollars per film, it’s hard to avoid becoming a celebrity. But Charlize Theron hates the label.
The “Italian Job” actress says that her privacy is too precious to let the media into her life all the time. “I don’t like celebrity. I don’t like this whole culture that we’re living in now, and I don’t like this casual attitude that if you decide to be an actor then your life is up for grabs.”
Even simple daily tasks have become troublesome for the “Monster” actress. “It’s just not nice to go and get your groceries and have seven cars following you. I think I am becoming a little bit more closed off because of it.”
And the 32-year-old actress says she loves the season of life she’s in. “I’m 32 and I absolutely love it. I wouldn’t want to go back to my twenties in a heartbeat. Life is a big old f***ing mystery, and I’m ready to go and experience it. I don’t have all the answers, but it’s great to feel that being in my early 30s I have been on the search - we all need to be on that search.”
