Thursday, August 14, 2008 Catherine Zeta Jones Mourns Loss of Grandmother
In unfortunate celebrity family news, Catherine Zeta Jones’ grandmother, whom she was named after, has passed away in Swansea at the age of 91. According to press reports, Mrs. Jones was a widow who lived in the Ravenhill area of the city for the past 60 years. Next door neighbor Mike Thomas, 60, said: “I’ve known Mrs. Jones since I was born. She was a real duchess. She was extremely popular, always chattering to people, and very proud of Catherine, but never going on about her too much.” Mrs. Jones took her exotic name from a Swansea merchant ship called “The Zeta”, which carried copper from South America to Wales. Catherine, who is married to actor Michael Douglas and has two children, plans to return to Wales for the funeral proceedings. Below are pictures of Catherine Zeta Jones working on the set of her latest movie, “The Rebound” (May 22).
