Cate Blanchett Welcomes a Baby Boy

Just a few days after she attended her younger sister’s college graduation, Cate Blanchett gave birth to Ignatius Martin on Sunday at a Sydney Hospital, her third child with writer-director hubby Andrew Upton.

The “Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou” actress has two other sons with Upton, Dashiell John (5 yrs) and Roman Robert (3 yrs).

Back in November when she confirmed the rumors that she was yet again expecting, it was widely believed that she was having another boy. She told press, “You know more than me. It’s early days yet. It’s due in April.”

And back in February at the Oscars, Cate was good-spirited about her very-far-along pregnancy, telling red carpet press, “He’s actually asleep – believe it or not, which bodes well.”
