Cate Blanchett Confirms Pregnancy Rumors

Unlike fellow celebrity mothers-to-be Jennifer Lopez and Christina Aguilera, Cate Blanchett decided to get the speculation over with by announcing that she is, indeed, pregnant with her third child.

The Babel actress confirmed that a baby is on the way on Saturday night in her home country of Australia, according to reports from the Sydney Morning Herald.

"Yes, I am,” the 38-year-old said at the Sydney premiere of her latest theatrical work, Elizabeth: The Golden Age.

When told by press that rumors indicated that the sex of the child was a boy, Blanchett responded: “You know more than me. It’s early days yet. It’s due in April.”

The latest member of the family makes number three for Cate and her writer-director husband, Andrew Upton, who currently are proud parents to two sons: Dashiell John, 5, and Roman Robert, 3.
