Can Nicole Richie Avoid Court… Again?
If you’re hoping to see Nicole Richie pull up to The Los Angeles County Court today, you’re about to be disappointed. It seems the Simple Life star won’t be showing up.
It seems that lawyers for both sides of the case were in court yesterday debating a motion made to delay the start of the trial. The reason for the delay? Richie’s case wasn’t ready to be made.
"She wanted a continuance to start the trial because her expert witness was not available during the (days) that they were supposed to start,” said a spokesperson.
There’s also talks that Richie’s lawyer may be in court later today to speak on her behalf and make a plea bargain. The terms of said bargain have not been disclosed at this time.
Richie’s lawyer explained that this is not a real delay of the case, anyway. “Everybody thinks tomorrow was the absolute start date; it’s not. It was a window of start dates. It could either start tomorrow or within 10 days. So technically if the delay is for a few days it would still be within the time frame that they said originally.”
