Cameron Diaz Wants To Prove That She Can Act
After she finishes up shooting the fluff comedy “What Happens In Vegas,” Cameron Diaz is said to be turning her attention to a role that offers her the chance to prove her true acting skills.
According to reports from The Sun, the Shrek actress, who has been busily filming in NYC over the past few weeks, is set to take on a “hard-hitting role as a woman whose life is ruined by botched cosmetic surgery.”
And Cameron hopes that this opportunity will bring her the same credibility and Oscar glory bestowed upon Charlize Theron for her portrayal of Daytona Beach prostitute turned serial killer, Aileen Wuornos, in the movie Monster.
“Cameron wants a serious role that isn’t about her looking cute and this role is just that, and much more,” an insider said.
“The character has terrible facial disfigurement which will require Cameron to sit through hours of make-up. It’s a really hard role and it’s going to be a big challenge for Cameron.”
