You people judge by age, your kid could finaly have someone they like and you would forbid them to see them again, how would you feel? not saying its smart of her, but it was her choice. First off the age limit is not always 18 for stat rape, people need to get their facts straight. It depends on the state that it occured in. Some states have a 2 year age difference until the age of 18 and some its if the child is under 18 and one is over 21...so lets find out the real age and where this occured at...good thought i know…

OMG people Ive never posted on one of these before but after reading yalls responses, i’ve got to.Jamie Lynn and Casey have been dating for 3 yrs which means she was around 13 or 14 when they started dating and he was 16. OMG thats a little over two freaking yrs! i keep reading that yall think its disgusting that they were together but look at it like this when she was around 13 or 14 she was in the 9th grade and at 16 he could have either been a sophomore or a junior.can u people honestly say that it is wrong for a freshmen in highschool to date a sophomore or a junior in high school? that aside, id bet that 98% of u people posting on here was having sex by the time u were 16 and for the girls i bet over half of yall were sleepin with someone a year or two maybe three yrs older than you! this kind of thing happens everyday but the only difference is that she is famous soo everyone is trying to judge her. maybe all of yall should get a life and not obsess over a 16 year olds sex life.

How do we know that they didn’t use contraception of any sort?  Contraception fails sometimes, even when used 100% properly.  They could have been trying to do safe sex, and the odds could have been against them.  It’s not fair to judge before knowing the facts.

I think she wasnt so smart to go get pregnant, but shes being so responsible for it. I know she shouldnt have done it in the first place, but I think that shes a sweet girl, so she probably wont do anything worse.

honestly. the age thing is not that big of a deal. when i was 17 i was dating a 21 year old. and now im 18 and he turned 22. it was a long term realtionship… with sex. age means nothing when youre in love. teens are having sex everywhere all over the world if you dont believe that then youre dumb. and if you dont think that your teen hasnt as least thought about having sex or already has… without you know then you are so so so mistaken.

First of all i would like to say that i feel sorry for the girl. i have a cousin who got pregnant at 16 and before that, she was on the wrong path, as soon as she had the baby, she became a wonderfull mother and the child probably saved her life. as to the age concern, i think its not the matter of age difference, its the fact that she’s so young and she’s having sex. there is a 5 year difference between me and my boyfriend, but he waited for 3 years untill i was ready. i think there shouldn’t be an age restriction because i dont think anyone follows it anywyas, and its just a matter of how mature you are and how you were raised. this poor girl didnt know any better. her mom was probably too preocupied with britney to even think her young daugheter could be doing what she did! i just hope this baby brings her happinness and that it matures her! good luck to her

Being a student attending a high school with a teen-mothers program, I see pregnant teens on a daily basis, living their lives just as the other students do, and at the same time learning to become good mothers. I know girls who have gotten pregnant at a young age, and have taken the responsibility to deal with it by either raising the child or getting an abortion. Both of these are options that I see as entirely rational.

Considering Jamie’s more religious upbringing, it doesn’t surprise me that she’s chosen to keep the child. And for all of you arguing, “How can she be a Christian if she had premarital sex?” think of it this way: I doubt there is one of you out there who can stand up and say that, in all of their life, you have never once sinned. I don’t believe that people can honestly see this one thing as a fatal character flaw. It doesn’t mean she’s a bad or irresponsible person. IN FACT, I WOULD URGE MY FUTURE CHILDREN TO LOOK UP TO HER AS A PERSON WHO TAKES RESPONSIBILITY FOR HER ACTIONS.

Additionally, I might mention that the Catholic Church, the mother of modern religion, encouraged marriage and child birth at a young age...repeated, ad nauseam. But I digress.

Society’s values have changed, and those changes have included less emphasis on the sanctity of marriage, and on the importance of only having one sexual partner (divorce, anyone?). As far as how celebrities choose to use their freedoms, I honestly don’t care. Celebrity life doesn’t interest me, and this is more of a political/moral debate than anything else.

At the end of the day, she’s just another young lady, and if anything is going to ruin her life and turn her down the wrong road, it won’t be the pregnancy; it will be being beaten down by people who don’t even know her.
