her boyfriend not being charged because he’s broken no law. at least where i’m from. not sure how CA works. but here the minor must but over 4 years younger then the person in question. we are currently going thro a stat rape case against my sisters sons father. i don’t know much about jamie lynn so i won’t judge her, i know getting preg so young seems like such and unfortunite thing.long as she’s a better mother then the rest of her family i think she’ll do fine. she has the money, which is a big prob of all moms. and seems level headed enough. it’s not always about age i thought my sister wasn’t going to be able to do a great job because of her age but i was so very wrong. she’s a wonderful mom. still in school and works.not all girls could do it at that age but it is possible, you play the hand your dealt some ppl are better at that then others before the 1900’s it was normal for 16yrs olds to have babys and get married so obviously it can be done even if it’s not ideal.

it not a big deal with 16 yr. olds getting pregnant...just as long as shes able to handle the baby and take care of it. I doubt shes anything like her slutty sister.

All of you parents don’t understand that EVERYTHING is different now than from when you were growing up. In my high school, girls are losing their virginity at 14 and i know about 15 girls that have had a baby. Jamie Lynn’s boyfriend should not get pressed with charges.  I think that if you are old enough to be able to operate a vehicle and you could easily kill yourself with one bad turn, then you should be able to have sex with your boyfriend.  It is not like it was a one time thing that they were having sex, they are a couple and have been dating for awhile. If Jamie Lynn would have had an abortion than all of you would have been calling her a baby killer. We will all see how she does taking care of this baby and then you can all stop saying she is like her sister.

I agree with Pebz 100%.  You parents who say not my kids, please stop being so naive.  They are only three years apart.  Come on 16 and 19 is not a big deal.  As a parent, I would have a right not to let them live together, but her mother like all mother’s cannot be with their child 24/7, so all you can do is talk and be open with your child about sex and relationships.  Also for those parents who are in denial it’s your kids who are in trouble because they are so afraid to talk to you, and like Pebs said"they already aborted it”.

Statutory Rape laws are made to keep people (mainly men) over the age of 21 from going after young girls that are 14 and below. Yes, these men should be labeled as rapist if they are like old men such as fathers doing this to their step daughters. I was on a jury similar to something like that. It’s sick. ive had a baby with a 19 year old and im 16 people dont get jailed or anythin unless the person is under 16. Hence why sex is legal at the age of 16 and how is it rape if they both agreed to do it?

Since biologically 18 is the ideal age for a woman to have a trouble free birth and a healthy baby it seems odd that our society disregards biology.  The woman over 35 who gives birth is the cause of a huge increase in autism and other childhood problems in the Developed World.  Maybe we should chastise the woman over 35 who saddles us all with problem offspring!

OMG!!! i can not believe that Jamie Lynn is pregnant. I dont know about anyone else but I looked up to her.
