Britney Spears to Kick Off MTV VMAs
Ready to take the stage this Sunday night (September 7), it has been confirmed that Britney Spears will be opening the show at the MTV Video Music Awards.
“MTV has long played an important role in my career. How can I not be there to kick off their 25th VMAs?” Spears told press. “I’m excited to open the entire show, to say hi to my fans and to be nominated.”
Previously, Brit’s manager Larry Rudolph has said that a musical performance will not be part of the opening act - and as of now, it’s still unknown how she’ll open the show.
Just as excited as everyone else to see what’s in store, MTV Networks Music President Van Toffler said: “Britney has done everything from perform with a snake, lock lips with Madonna and prove that what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas. I can’t wait to see what she does to kick off this year’s show.”
