Britney Spears Suicide Note Report is Bogus

With the trainwreck that is Britney Spears’ life over the past year, the recent news that she had written a suicide note days before her meltdown wasn’t that outlandish.

But according to her buddy Sam Lufti, it’s “absolutely 100% not true.” This is a stark contrast to the In Touch Weekly report that the “Piece of Me” singer had penned a dismal note declaring that she didn’t want to live anymore.

In Touch quoted a source close to Brit (insinuating Lufti) saying, “The letter was very sad. It was filled with reasons why she shouldn’t live, included lines from poems about death.” The magazine also incorrectly reported the date of Spears’ admittance to Cedars-Sinai Hospital (they said January 4th, when it was actually the 3rd).

In another example of questionable reporting, In Touch also supposedly broke the story that Jamie Lynn Spears had dumped her boyfriend Casey Aldridge after he supposedly demanded a paternity test. And Jamie Lynn’s rep immediately rebutted the erroneous reporting, calling it “completely false.”
