Wednesday, April 25, 2007 Britney Spears Joining The Simpson Clan?
The latest rumors are claiming that Britney Spears may pick up Joe Simpson to be her new manager. The father of Ashlee and Jessica Simpson, whom Ashlee has called “a wonderful man,” may be just what Britney needs to kick-start her comeback tour. According to an inside source for the NY Daily News, “Joe Simpson is considering managing Spears’ career, or what’s left of it, just as he has done for Jessica and her sister, Ashlee.” The Daily News source even stated that Joe, a former Baptist minister, tried to set up a meeting over the weekend with Britney, although Jessica’s rep Cindi Berger denied the claim. Meanwhile, the NY Daily News source noted that “Jessica would be okay with the arrangement and even offered to put out a call to Britney, as the two are no longer competitors.” So, it seems like Britney may be looking for what the Simpson girls have got… a good relationship with their manager/father. The two are clearly appreciative of their dad’s efforts, with Ashlee calling Joe “a wonderful man” in Harper’s Bazaar, and Jessica giving him a Ferrari. Daily News insiders “even credit Joe’s guidance for helping the sisters avoid the excesses that sent Spears to rehab at the urging of her family, doctors and manager, Larry Rudolph. Spears, attributing her behavior to postpartum depression, left rehab and fired Rudolph, for which her estranged father, Jamie, blasted her last week.” We’ll keep you updated if anything becomes official, until then… enjoy the pictures of Britney, Jessica, and Ashlee!
