Saturday, February 02, 2008 Britney Spears: Getting Extended Stay
Earlier this afternoon, Britney Spears’ parents paid her a visit after spending time at K-Fed’s house, showing up just before 1 pm and staying until a little past 6 pm. Diagnosed as a severe bipolar patient, it looks like the troubled pop tart has found herself a temporary home in the UCLA Medical Center. According to the latest reports, sometime very soon it’s expected that papers will be signed extending Britney’s involuntary stay at the psych ward by two weeks. Meanwhile, during any of these holds, “a patient-rights advocate and a court representative will interview Ms. Spears to find out if she objects to being held against her will.”
So, if Britney decides she wants to leave, she can set court hearings in motion just by saying that she doesn’t want to be there anymore.

COMMENTS I hope her Dad and Mom can help her out before her getting crazy. I support her and hope she will pull through. God bless! Posted by on 02/03 at 02:45 AM
I would like to make a comment on what is going on with Brittany Spears has anyone considered that she could have severe post partum depression sometimes it can last a couple years after childbirth. I wish her well as a mother of three young adults I feel bad that she is experiencing such pain in her heart, and if everyone could remember that she is only human and everyone has limits on what they can handle, money and fame does not make for happiness but love and understanding does. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family. Posted by on 02/03 at 03:37 AM
I’m so glad that her parents are helping Brit. I wish her the best! I will pray for you Brit.Keep your head high and you will get through this. I will pray for you. Love ya Posted by on 02/03 at 03:42 PM
To Rhonda: everything we have heard about UCLA Medical Center leads me to believe that their psychiatric staff are professional, experienced, and competent, and I think that we can count on them not to overlook PPD as a possibility, nor anything else. In any case, it’s not for us to second-guess their diagnoses. To everyone: I’m very glad that Britney is finally getting the kind of help that she seems to need. Unfortunately, she has the right to legally challenge her 14-day hold, and she might be able to get out of there too early for her own good. Also, I worry that even two more weeks will not be sufficient time for her to gain enough personal insight to get this problem under control once she is released. Nonetheless, I am hoping and praying for the best possible outcome for her. Posted by on 02/03 at 05:53 PM
