Britney Spears has been hard at work in an attempt to make a chart-topping comeback to the music scene. The pop princess may have gotten the break that she needed, as it's been reported that she's set to sing a duet with the late Marilyn Monroe.
Don't follow? Well, it appears that former NSYNCer Lance Bass has recently secured the rights to a previously unreleased Marilyn song called ‘Down Boy’.
Apparently Lance, who has ties to Brit from his days as a bandmate of Justin Timberlake, thinks that Spears is the perfect fit for the song and hopes to get something in the works as soon as possible.
A source told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: “Lance wants Britney to sing with Marilyn on the track, like Natalie Cole did on ‘Unforgettable’ with her dad Nat King Cole.”
According to E Canada Now, "Plans are already in place for the ‘Toxic’ singer to don a platinum Marilyn-esque wig and dress like the glamour icon, when they shoot the video."
Meanwhile, Britney continues to work on a her new album - planned for release in October.
