Britney Spears’ Getaway

The old adage “Truth is stranger than fiction” definitely applies in the life of Britney Spears. You couldn’t make this stuff up! The latest on our favorite Pop Tart is that she skipped town last night with her paparazzi boyfriend Adnan Ghalib.

The “Piece of Me” singer hopped on a private jet in Van Nuys, California, headed for Teterboro Airport in the Garden State (New Jersey). As far as their whereabouts after hitting the runway, no one knows.

There are reports that Brit skipped town in order to avoid a planned intervention by members of her family that was to take place later this week. Apparently, the “Gimme More” singer isn’t interested in getting help for her mental/emotional dysfunction.

Speculation is rampant that Dr. Phil’s statement to Entertainment Tonight regarding Britney’s state of mind (he said she, “is in dire need of medical and psychological intervention") may have caused the rift between herself and her family.

A Spears family spokesperson told press, “What’s wrong with Dr. Phil’s statement is that he made a statement. The family, basically, extended an invitation of trust for him to come in as a resource to support them, not to go out and make public statements. He was not invited to make this part of a public display.”
