Britney Spears and Russell Brand: VMA Ready
A pair of promotional videos have just been released for the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, and they’re quite funny. Then again, when you get Russell Brand and Britney Spears together, anything can happen.
The English actor/comedian (who was hilarious on Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and the “Gimme More” singer are the perfect pairing for the spots, which come off as mostly improvised.
In one of them, Brand, who is just coming into popularity here in the States, quizzes the “Toxic” starlet on his last name, which she can’t seem to remember.
After he informs her it’s Brand and not Brown (as she stated) Russell adds, “You will remember that name because I think pretty soon it’s going to be your surname. Britney Brand.”
Russell will be hosting this year’s awards and Britney may or may not be appearing. Although she is up for Best Pop Video and Best Female Video.
