Boy George Gets 15 Months in Jail

It’s been a long time coming and finally today (January 16) Boy George was sentenced to fifteen months behind bars for false imprisonment of a male escort.

Back in 2007, the “Karma Chameleon” singer reportedly handcuffed Audun Carlsen to the bed in his London flat and beat him with a metal chain while he tried to escape after a nude photo shoot.

In his own defense, Boy George (real name George O’Dowd) said that while he does admit handcuffing the guy, he only did so because he believed his computer had been tampered with. But Carlsen claimed, “I think he couldn't handle the refusal -- me not having sex with him."

After all was said and done, the judge ended up ruling in favor of Carlsen, saying George was guilty of ‘gratuitous violence,” and “traumatizing” his victim. He’ll spend the next 15 months in jail as a result.
