Bobby Brown Freed From Jail By Radio Station

Posted Saturday March 3, 2007 1:33 PM GMT

Bobby Brown has been stuck in jail as a result of being broke and unable to pay the $19,000 in back spousal support needed to be released. While family and friends were nowhere to be found, a Washington DC radio station came to the singers aid and sprung him from the slammer.

WIHT-FM said in a statement that the money was paid following a deal that was brokered by morning DJ Kane and Brown's lawyers. E! News said.
Kane says Brown will work at the station for a week beginning Monday, discussing his transgressions on-air and promoting the station at other times.

Not a bad little payday for Brown, who has been in a freefall as far a popularity is concerned.

"Bobby deserves a clean slate," said Kane. "He has agreed to be a positive role model for the Washington, D.C. community, and we look forward to welcoming Bobby to the staff at Hot 99.5."

Brown was first taken into custody last Sunday, after a warrant was served when Brown came back to his home state of Massachusetts to watch his daughter's cheerleading event.
