Saturday, March 10, 2007 Big Raises For “Grey’s Anatomy” Stars
Most of the stars of the hit medical drama series ’Grey’s Anatomy‘ have agreed new contracts, and as could be assumed… they will not need to pick up a second job to cover the bills. The Hollywood Reporter states that, under the new deal, Ellen Pompeo (Meredith Grey) will receive almost $200,000 per episode, while her co-stars James T Pickens Jr (Richard Webber) and Chandra Wilson (Miranda Bailey) will receive somewhere in the ballpark of $125,000 per episode. Meanwhile, Justin Chambers (Alex Karev) and TR Knight (George O’Malley) are close to agreeing new contracts, for which they will also be paid in the region of $125,000 per episode. Even better for the actors, the trade daily says that the deals are retrospective and will go back to the first episode of the third season. As for the rest of the cast, Kate Walsh (Addison Montgomery-Shepherd), who could star in the proposed ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ spin-off series, has also inked an undisclosed new deal, while Patrick Dempsey (Derek Shepherd), Sandra Oh (Cristina Yang) and Katherine Heigl (Isobel Stevens) have yet to agree to new contracts. The contract status of Isaiah Washington (Preston Burke) is unclear at present, with numerous scandals surrounding the actor. Bookmark this Story | Share with a Friend
